Courtesy light / puddle light / door handle lights 10 second delay!

hey guys yep another one! loll
dont hate me pleaseee you guys are the only people i can turn toooo

      just another mod idea..
i love the lil lights you get with the bmws and more expensive cars
where you hit the central locking button and lil lights light up under the side mirror and your door handles light up.
i was just wondering has anyone tried or done this mod?

i done a bit of reading on other car forums from a quick google search.
other cars luckily have their interior light, light up when they unlock their doors.. mine doesnt dont know about you guys..

sooo need to figure a way of getting that to happen plus have a 10 second delay on it so i can wire up the light on the door handles and under the mirror.

      ideas:

get a time delay circuit thingy majigyy! wire that to the interior dome light then wire the other lights up

HOWEVER big problem... that dont mean it will light up when i unlock the car..
sooo im guessing ima have to hack in to the central locking wires some how?? any ideas which wires..
i was thinking to do it with the solenoid on the door itself.. HOWEVER i need the lights to switch off when i lock the car... or should i not be so fussy and just let it stay on for those 10 seconds...

see the other thing is as well im planning to get an alarm within the next few months nearer to the end time of the cars completion... so should i just wait till then and get an alarm with a delay feature on it and wire it up to that?

thought id post this anyway incase anyone else was wondering to do it..

      any ideas??

You could wire the lights with a timed delay relay off the power lock circuit from the remote box.

But you'd be making quite a bit of harness for that.

You could put an led strip under the door so when it is open (off the jamb switch) it will light the ground.

For the key locks they used to sell cover replacements with indiglo strip around the key hole. But if you have power locks why waste you time for a mod when your not using a key?

Finnaly somebody who kinda thinks like me, anyways this I plan on doing to my car when I'm done with my alarm or starter, if it's a starter, underbody LEDs will stay on as long as the car is remote started, they will stAy on when I unlock the car for 30 secs, and will flash when alarm is triggered,
If it's just alarm the LEDs will stay on after unlocking the car for 30 secs, flash when locking or whe. Alarm is triggered.
My advice is that you wait till you install you Alarm, the options are endless of you know how to use your relays and diodes. I'll be posting a how to when I'm done with mine.

Just watched your video... so the LED strips that you have on your tail lights - they're wired into the parking lights I take it? or are they always on? And what about the ones on your headlights?
