yep the ones at the back are always on when i switch my lights on. so lights off strips off :D
same with the front bulbs. they are wired to the side light at the front.. i have the 3 strips thingy as a side light which is just 1 501 bulb. i just tapped in to the wiring.. so i have the stripes and the led strips at the same time..

You could have it alternate with the turn signal (i.e. turn signal on - LED strip off, only when the turn signal is activated)... I personally like it that way (saw it on one of the Audi's in passing, thought it was pretty cool so looked around to see if I can wire mine like that)...
You could wire both front and back strips that way... all you have to do is cut the ground wire off the strip and tap it into the power wire for the turn signal. So when the turn signal comes on, the strip is off 'cause it's getting power to both wires... just an idea.

yee thats cool, theres a guy with a audi tt thats done it like yours as well in ur vid.
looks really cool... i was wondering how you done it as well.. thanks for that.. i would never of thought of that :| damn..
what i might actuallllly do is convert my entire lower part of my cluster... so its a row of white leds like the audi annnd a row of orange ones as an indicator.. all in that 1 part so it looks like its part of the cluster... mmmm...
another idea i had was inside the acutal cluster open it up and feed a row of those led strips in... and shape it up... but then i realisd as i have the eyebrows over my bonnet might be a bit tricky getting the angl n height correct ect ect... so was put off.
