      I put the same switch in and in the same place actually. It is handy to look at it because there is an led letting you know if it is on or not. It is also easy to install in that location because the top piece is easy to disassemble. The cruise has been very reliable and easy to use.

      I didn't connect the LED in the dash (if that's the one you're talking about) because of my custom gauges. I took out the light channel for the cruise light (TPMS light spot in later models) and DRL light (disconnected anyways). And I just leave my switch on pretty much all the time, or click it on if it doesn't engage.
