Custom fit sub box
I am in the process of building a sub box that fits into the indentions on the side of the trunk. I was wondering if anyone has done this or if anyone would be interested in some templates.
Questions or comments welcome. Let me know what you think about my plans, or just give me some advice.

Cut out mdf rings that the fiberglass will be attached and the subs can mount in. glass it up (theres plenty of guides online). paint, wire and enjoy.
I recommend using the side walls of the hatch (or trunk)

I have actually built the front back and bottom out of MDF. I want to enclose the sides with fiberglass but I'm not sure where to start when it comes to getting the material.

The best place would be a Marine supply shop. They sell big quantities of of glass cloth or mat and resin/hardener. Grab some latex, speaders and a mask.

Free Sub Box
So I finished building the custom fit box when I decided that I wanted to build a bigger one. It is just an MDF box without carpet that fits perfectly into the side compartment on a 2007 Aveo sedan. Since I am building a bigger box and don't want to waste what I already built I have decided to give it away for the price of shipping only (I don't want to lose any more money on it). I will post pictures and the weight of the box later. If anyone is interested let me know.

It is made for a 10" sub. The hole could be cut bigger for a 12" sub. You could possibly modify it to fit an 8". The box is ported because there isn't enough air space in the box to have it sealed. I weighed it on a bathroom scale and it said 15 lbs. This could be off a pound or 2. Here are some pictures:

It will need to be carpeted or something.
It fits perfectly into the indention on the right side of the trunk. When the trunk is closed the arm that is attached to the trunk door is in front of the box not allowing it to move around. It does NOT rub against the arm (just in case you are wondering).
