dam dash clock

question

after doing a few searches here i can see that im not the only one who has an issue with the dash clock

everynow and then ...but not all the time... the clock in my 05 wave is 2-5 mins slow and it gets worse unless i correct it.

it sucks as sometimes i think i have lots of time but then i realize im going to be late :P

I have also noticed that very rarley it rests to 0100..

any ideas ?

How much did the dealer charge you guys to fix this ? and will simply changing the clock part fix it ?

my clock is slow too.. ?

dealer wants 100 bucks for the clock... bastards

Yeah mine used to do that, I had it replaced under warranty. Since it's a known problem see if you can get it done for free

damn!!! is that why the doors are always locked when i get there and its usually dark?

i'v had this problem since the second year or so i owned it. its been to the dealer 3 times, and each time they say they fixed it. clock still doesnt work. thought about replacing it with a dvd screen or something

since we're talking about the dash clock, any ideas on how to change its color or the clock itself so it can match my new blue interior light color

I bought my 04 Aveo about 9 months ago and I'm also having problems with my clock. At first I didn't know what caused it. One night I went to the car wash to wash the car and when I left I noticed the clock was wrong, it reseted to 1pm. It didn't happen again for a few months, then pow! out of the bue it did it again. It seems to be intermitent. I was blaming my drl module because it was going but after unpluging it I noticed every now and then it still does it.

It's not a big deal but a I wonder if the dealership would replace it? The car is not under warranty and I'm assuming they'll try to sell me a clock. I don't mind resetting it but its a pain in the butt when it happens.

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated!

I also have this problem and i got to the service.
They made some soldering on the motherboard clock.
After that they tell me as everithing is fine, and the clock will be working.
Well... the clock,still reset it self.I go to the service again and they discover a diode on board clock that went randomly.They change tehe diode and everithing is ok right now.

Just bought an 09 aveo and the clock is restting itself how do you get the clock out.I can't find a hanyes or chilton book on a 2009 aveo.

I'm interested in this too, only red for me :D Hopefully this is a simple swap..I want to do all my dash backlights in red

I recently replaced the clock on my 2005 after the display would cut on and off. $15 from eBay and its been working fine ever since.

How hard is the swap? Honestly I haven't even gotten into the dash yet

I have the same issue. But I'm not worried about it, I have a touchscreen radio with a clock lol
