Has anyone changed out or done anything with the shift knob. Automatic preferrably with overdrive button. I kno it's not worth the trouble according to certain people. But just asking if anyone has done it and how did it turn out. Where n how much did you get it for?...
i had one with the overdrive button, didnt work that well, you can not use a manual one either, only one with a button, i always wanted to change mine out but its not worth it, I plan on doing something with the stock one though
How is it Causing problems what does it do?
But I did paint my shifter but since I keep my hand on it always using the 2 gear on the highway. The paint wouldn't stick n it rubbed off and even rubbed off just crap on my husbands hands he gets from wrk since he weld at discount tire shop so I gotta repaint it or idk if it's worth to repaint again or buy a new shift knob. I was thinking this time get a paint primer, the color, n then add a
Clear coat.

i purchased this cool well i think its cool LOL, lil knob off ebay its got a cool little ENGINE START BUTTON IN IT!!!! which is under a lil cover you flik up :D

im planning to maybe spraying it another colour or coating it with some white leathere as im doing the rest of my interior in white leatherette as we speak!! loonnnggg ass jobb!! but should look fab in the end..
wont install it soon either as im still doing body work sanding ect so dnt wana get it all dirty before i even set off... heres a few pics of the roof and a pillar that ive done :D

So the engine button works as a "grear shift" button then? Didn't realize you had an automatic, thought you have a manual and were actually wiring the button to start your car... It is doable, would require an investment in a nice alarm system though (you better have one installed already with the way your car is turning out to be)
no no, it works a engine start button. i still have to wire it up to the ignition tho. i need to get ahold of a wiring diagram in the next few days.. probably 1 somewere in this forum or on daewoo tech..
i just wired it up 2 c what it looks like when it lights up :P

but my gear box has gone..
so ima wait for a decent astra vxr manul gear box 2 pop up buy it and try stick that in if its possible... rather than spend over £1000 gbp on a auto referb gearbox...
yee alarm will be sooner or later, its locked in my garage at the moment and the thing is everyone knows me within the local area.. so no1 really would try anything.. and i always park in well lit areas when i do go out at night..
i have a drive and garag at home so.. not much problem.. but still will defo 110% get a brilliant alarm.. cos i am spending alot on gadgets.. and im not thinking to tint my windows .. loll
well il see how it goes... anyway in regards to the tinting..

you will need some sort of a bypass for the imobilizr.. thats if u have an imobilizr btw.. lol those without.. dont pay any attention...
My 06 SVM didn't have ANY sort of security, so I didn't need an immobilizer. Saved me some money when I was installing the alarm.Quote:
