      Driver side lock

The driver side lock will not go down when the door is open. But if i roll down the window and try to push it down, it will! I have no idea why it does this, please help! Also I have a remote starter and locking thing. But it doesn't lock. The lights blink but it never locks. Thanks

what year? the first gen (up to 09) had a "safety" feature where you can lock your keys in the car by locking the plunger ith the door open.

the remote starter/door lock is not factory is it?
does your car have power door locks otherwise? if you have manual locks, you not going to get a remote to unlock your doors.

CJ, that is the way they are. Its a pain in the arse, but I think there is a how-to on here to get rid of that feature. I haven't done it yet, but rest assured, the first time my door panels come off it will be done.

I love this feature. I'm also paranoid about locking my keys in the car, as my spare is 40 minutes away at my parents home.

You need to cut a wire from the security module to be able to lock the doors when the car is started. Let me find the wiring diagram.

      EDIT:

The pink/black wire circled at the security module is the ignition on sensing wire. If you cut it, it will allow you to lock the doors with the remote when the car is started. It will not allow you to lock the doors when the door is open, however.
