      Facctory Radio for 2007 Aveo

Hi! I bought my car a few weeks ago and it had an aftermarket radio in it. The radio sucks and I want to go back to the factory radio. However, I was told I need the UL code and I do not have that. I tried to find a sticker somewhere on the car to hopefully find that information but there is no sticker anywhere. Any suggestions? Also, if I should find the correct factory radio, will it have the lock features?

Thanks for your help and input!

I don't know about 07, but 06 radios did not have any kind of security in them that I know of. I could never get the stock radios to work well with changing temperature, would always cut the sound out over bumps and the front display was dicey, mostly due to old age.

Our 04 had an unlock code needed; somewhere on the forum is a list of all the available codes - if memory serves, there's only around 20 variations? I just kept trying codes until I found the one that worked.

But as others have noted, the OEM radio isn't the greatest quality itself - chances are if your current aftermarket unit sounds like garbage, it's due to the speakers; in many cases, an aftermarket unit can put out more power than the stock speakers can handle, and it destroys them. If there's a factory amp in the car, I would question if the unit was installed properly to allow for that?

If you want good sound quality, probably going to have to invest in some upgrades across the system - the Aveo is such a small car, you don't need a 7000 watt system that will use seismic vibrations to propel the car... I'd say the biggest issue will be sound deadening to compensate for the road noise and whatnot, considering these cars aren't exactly known for their high quality insulation.
