where would the fuse for the horns be and how do i get at it? i fear i might have blown the fuse for the horns (or at least im hoping i blew the fuse and not burnt the wiring up....)

Fuse is under the hood. You might want to use a relay and take power directly from the battery. Those horns you put on prolly take more than twice the juice of the stock one.

k, found fuse box, found fuse...it was blown on account of my massive horns...Originally Posted by thebarber
i guess itd be relatively unsafe to throw a 15 in there instead of a 10 eh?
well that all depends if the wiring can support 15 amps, if it does, I don't see why not.
Yeah I just crunched some numbers.
12V * 10 Amps = 120 watts. You might tell me the alternator charges at 14.x volts, but that would still make too close to 144w to be safe.
Horns need 144w, a 15amp fuse at 12v would give you 180watts, plenty....again hoping the wiring will support it. I would doubt it wouldn't. The fuse is there to protect the device, the wire should be able to hold much more current to be safe. Guess a factor of safety of 2 on the wires, they should hold at least 20 amps.
That's all nice talk for "careful".

you could use the original lines as acc lines and wire a switch to the battery or an empty slot in the box (if there even is any).
good ideas...!Originally Posted by kirbycope
