The blue LEDs I bought from eBay are the 6 SMD LED 194 and the seller is present_dream.

      Re: Gauge lights

The reason I bought the blue SMD bulbs was it because it gives you a wide and even light output therefore it won't give a hot spot compare to the regular blue 6 LEDs I got before.

      Re: Gauge lights

I will have to look into the smd bulbs, the bright spots are my only gripe against regular 5 led bulbs I have in there right now. I might just wait and get the gauges off the black cat customs website and order their led upgrade. That's if I'm keeping the car though.

      Re: Gauge lights

The SMD type are the best option for the gauges and especially since the Aveo instrument cluster its so small so if not choosing the right bulb will give you hot spots.

It's not really the size of the cluster, it's the light "channels" if you will... Could you post a picture of or a link to the exact bulb that you bought? I've searched for the SMD 6 LED 194, but a few different ones came up... I want to see which one exactly you have.

Evy, you'll have to wait for AveoGirl to see how much she paid, but as for the other half of your question, if my memory serves me well, you need 5 bulbs for the cluster (bulb # 194) and 4 for the HVAC unit (# 74). May I also stress one thing: when you install the 74 bulbs into the sockets (the bulbs are tiny), make sure they're ALL THE WAY IN, so you don't have one pop out of the socket (like it did on me) into the panel... the hvac panel is a PITA to take apart and put back together because of all the silicone-greased gears and such.

I paid for them $2.28/pair including shipping therefore the total was $6.84.

The link I posted is the same exact same one I bought it from.
