After hearing about it everyday on the radio like every five minutes I am looking into getting HD installed. Has anyone found a good product that works with the standard OEM radio without replacing the whole head unit and that is easy to wire

After searching, researching and waiting for time I installed a portable hd radio to my aveo. The unit that I bought was a JVC KTHDPK1 which came with a professional car kit. Easy to install if you have the right adapters since this unit uses motorola antenna plugs.
Instead of dealing with the adapters and potentially disrupting something with the on-star link I just did without and bought a tune trapper hidden motorcycle antenna from the local Harley shop. This antenna is passive but collects the FM signal very well and I have seen. To install I took off the the glove box and stuck the hidden antenna up in the dash just above the glove box.
Then I mounted the control box with some zip ties in the same location and ran the wires to the head unit. The sound is awesome and you will get alot of new stations to listen to.
I will get some pics up soon.

pretty good, nice to hear it works with no problems
i dont use my radio (i have a fusion headunit with ipod only) so HD radio is not for me, does it sound a lot better over regular radio, i never really read into it myself
you really can tell the difference in the quality. it's like a vinyl record to a cd. the good thing about the hd unit is the it plays through your aux port.
