Your radio reception really depends on your location. No matter how good your stereo is, 3 places will kill you. In the mountains because you have signal kill in the valleys, or atop large mountains where there are no antennae, secluded areas, where you have few to no local radio, and right under the antenna (google "radio umbrella.")
FM signals are horrible, because their radio waves are very directional, and they tend to float off after a few, to a couple hundred miles, because of the curvature of the earth, their signal strength, and their "sweeping signal." AM radio is a little better on that end, because of the signal's "up and down" motion that makes it better for the curvature, but gives it an "in and out" reception, depending on where you are in relation to the wave's sweep. It takes less wattge to to travel farther, but it is still just a monophonic sound, and usually pretty scratchy.
The only things you can do to improve reception are things like antenna amps, which are hit and miss. Some swear by them, some swear they don't work. I am neither here or there. Some radio manufacturers include antenna amps built into the radio (Pioneer Supertuner).
Either way, not a whole lot you can do unless you move.

what kind of mounth did you use? did you place it where the oem antenna went, or in a diff location?

I rarely listen to the radio anyway, I am all about the XM Radio. That and the 11,000 songs on my iPod. I figure if I can't find something to listen to, I should probably off myself...

it says to do something, that is all im looking for a small increase, if it doesnt do anything, its no big. it wasnt too much of a dent in the pocket.
