I bought a 2011 Aveo from a dealer in Roseville, CA for my daughter in August 2016. The ignition alarm does not chime when the key is left in. If you jiggle it and push the key in with the door open, it will then chime but in normal turn on and turn off, it does not chime. The dealer has tried to fix it. They put in a new ignition switch in November and made new longer keys. Again you still had to push the longer key into the barrel before it would chime but then pull it out to be able to turn it in the ignition. It was just unfeasible to have to do all this jiggling to get the car to start. Also had to do all the jiggling on outside lock. They agreed to look at it again and have really tried to solve the problem but cannot. They ordered different keys today and now the jiggling problem is solved but they now tell me that the ignition chime does not sound in another Aveo that is on their lot and that it is just a defect with the Aveo that I have to accept and I need to get used to no chime even though in the five months I've had the car we have locked ourselves out three times already! Is this a known problem with no fix? Thanks in advance! Barbara
