UPDATE: IT WORKS!
here's some photos of where I have the Controls Temporarily mounted (until I can afford the more permanent mountings on the Steering Wheel; which includes both Brackets that are made of Military Grade Unobtainium; which were Graciously provided by a Suzuki Forenza), and where I've routed my Harness:

Well, I've had to reposition the audio controls, the Velcro I used wouldn't stick to the pod; and I went ahead and installed the Unobtanium Brackets in the wheel.; all that remains is to buy and install the Clockspring and then I can enjoy the controls as Chevrolet intended.

FYI to Canadians... The Forenza is better known as the Chevy Optra in Canada. And I'm willing to bet we've got a few in scrapyards.
