It's too slow. When I double clutch, I know the revs higher than actually posted on the dial. There must a a capacitor somewhere dampening the action... to make it look smooth.Quote:

Click on the right link (for the year aveo you have) and check for the TACH wire in which you have to splice.
thanks for the links but what about wiring to the distributor?Quote:

we have a coil pack...I'm not sure about the wires going to that. you can also find out which is the tach wire from the instrument cluster connector...that one will be white and trickier...since there are 3 or 4 white wires in there...good luck.
Ontarian_frog is right, we have a coil pack, so you can't just run a tach wire to a coil as it will not be accurate. The easiest wire to tap is the one that ontarian_frog said, a white wire in a plug at the firewall. Test with a DMM and look for AC, not DC voltage that increases as you rev the motor. Should read somewhere between 4-6 VAC from idle to like 2K. Or there are many articles on the web about how to "make" a tach signal from tapping a fuel injector wire. the old days of running to the coil are long gone.

Corrected link for the 2007-2008,

oopss,, thx for the correction
k so a friend told me the orange wire on the coil pack is what i could use for the green wire (distributor wire) and im just wondering if that would work and if you guys had any other suggestions
I'll have to check tomorrow. From the schematics I have, there is no orange wire going to the coil pack. Also from what seems to be a general rule with the aveo, a orange wire is usually a power wire, 12V positive, from the battery (2004-2006)
huh well okay thenQuote:
