lights-on chime?

i have an '08 aveo LT and i just noticed that there is no lights-on chime [though the owner's manual says there is].
is this how it is on every aveo - or is there something wrong with mine?

Something is wrong, it should chime. Does it chime when you leave the key in the ignition and the door open? Maybe a fuse.

the door ajar and seatbelt chimes work fine.

if i leave my lights on, they turn off when i turn the car off and open the door, but if i manually turn them back on again only the parking lights come on and there is no chime.
could it be because only the parking lights are on?

it should chime if u have the door open, keys out of ignition, and lites are on. even if its just the parkin lites.

mine chimes all the time due to me leaving the keys in, lights on and so on. always a reason for me to recheck the car before i exit it.

If it wasn't for that chime, I probably would be met with a dead battery now and then.
Though I do wish it was all 'automatic'.
Our Blazer, you never have to touch the lights. They go on when you turn on the car. When it gets darker, they adjust, and they go off when you turn off the car. The radio also stays on until you open a door.

My 08 LT doesn't chime when I leave the lights on, regardless if you take the keys out and open the door or open the door and then take the keys the lights should shut themselves off. I've never had a problem with it.

there is a battery saver on our cars. After 15 minutes, lights will turn off automatically. Thanks to that, I had left my lights on one evening and the car started no problem the next day :)

doesnt the chime turn off when you inplug the chime under your dash?? did you check that, cuz thats the fact with mine. i unplugged it and no stupid noise.

There is no chime for the lights because as soon as you open the drivers door, the lights automatically turn off. I leave mine on all the time. When I go to work, its dark, and when I come home, it's dark, so I just leave them on.

What about " key in " chime....? How do I disable that ?

You tube video tells me to disconnect a little brown box above brake pedal ? Sadly I cannot bend to see if it's there....is it ?
