Your options to hook up an MP3 player are either the FM transmitter or getting an aftermarket stereo. You could also record a few disks worth of MP3 tracks for her. That would be enough for days of entertainment. Not as convenient as just having your player plugged in, but definitely is the cheapest way to go (nothing to buy except for blank CD-Rs if you don't already have some).
