Whatever you do, DO NOT buy no-name flip-screens. They are junk! If you want a cheap reliable flip-screen go to walmart and buy one made by Jensen. I think they're like 300 bucks, but probably cheaper in the lower-48 though. I've had mine in my s10 for like 3 years and it has worked flawlessly and has excellent iPod controls.

jensen is basicly a noname brand also, and what most people don't know its usualy one company that makes the guts of all thouse cheap no name dvd flip out head units.

I agree that most junk radios are cheap counter-parts of other companies but I wouldn't venture as far as to say Jensen is a no-name company. They've been in the stereo and electronics business for years. And if mine can handle flipping in and out and maintaining touch-screen capabilities after 3 years of -50*F I think it speaks for itself lol.

jensen nots bad, but they arent the best either. I myself would rather spend the money and get the better brand. With my past experiences, I like fusion and jenson, but dual and sony have not gone well for me.

JENSEN is CRAP!!! It is hard to get a good HU for 150. I always liked Alpine for SQ. And I would look for 4V preout like you said, you will not have to turn your gains up as much and will have less distrotion. Stay away from sonicelectronic or whatever, they are a grey market dealer and you will not have a manufacturer warranty, it is thru them. Crutchfield is authorized for all brands sold, and with the free dash kit and harness and free shipping it is hard to beat. Like said before, do not buy a cheap flip up screen, they are junk and will leave you hanging. I would wait a little and save up the xtra coin and get a decent HU. Just my .02

Oh absolutley there are better screens out there. I was just making a point. I have since bought a very nice panasonic flip-screen that I love and put the Jensen in my Daytona CS. I think for what I paid for the Jensen (298.00) it has been very good.

Most units are made in china at the same factories but some get alpine badge and some get no badge and go on eBay

Wolfman would know what to get if you want reliability, he experiences pretty harsh conditions.
