I have the Aveo second hand and I have no idea what the slot is for? It looks like it might be a cup holder insert?
I only have the quick guide for a manual and it is not depicted in the Hyroglifs. I can take a picture tomorrow is it is needed but I think it is basic and I am the only one to figure it out. My searching did not net anything.

If it is a slot near the driver's side door, it is for toll tickets.
