      Need help getting chimes back

We bought a 2007 Aveo hatchback that someone had installed a Pioneer DEH P2900 stereo in before we got it. My problem is that we do not have the chime that tells you your headlights are on after you turn off the car or that tell you your key is in the ignition when you open the driver's door. Does anyone know if this could be due to a mismatch in the wiring harness of the radio or does the chime not go through the radio system on this particular model? We would really like to have them back....to keep from having to jumpstart the car too often... Thanks in advance!

The chime module is separate from the radio, its just above the drivers side kick panel behind the hood release cable.

Thanks. Found it. Any tricks to getting it out so I can replace it? The wires look fine to it(nothing cut)...but we have obviously lost sound for the lights on and key in ignition parts. Do you know if it is supposed to make sounds for other things I could check?

Does it work if you drive around without your seatbelt on? Otherwise removal is pretty straight forward. Disconnect the wiring and remove the two screws on the side of the chime.

I just wanted to update this...we found a faulty wire in the door jamb switch which fixed the problem when repaired. Thank you for your assistance!
