How much and can they be connected to a power source with a switch so I don't have to plug them into a A/C adapter?

i dunno-im not too informative bout electronics and wiring and all that crap but im an LED fella, meanin, id rather just go out buy a few packs of LEDS, wire em up to whatever has power and go from there-i find its easier and less time consuming imo.

I bought my light tubes from wal-mart, but they don't carry them anymore and I've sold them since then so I can't tell you what brand. AutoZone carries some too that work well...

Just cut the A/C plug off and run the wires to a power and ground. The clear wire is power, ground should have a white stripe. Hook a toggle switch up to the power side and use an inline fuse since you cut off the fuse that comes factory...

little more detailed... No pics though sorry...
