New Clarion Head unit - IPhone Integration

      Hi all,

I installed a new Clarion CZ509 last night. The deck is awesome, I now have sound from my iphone through the speakers... just by sitting in the car and turning it on. Hands free talking as well, check out the install, my thoughts and pictures here.

Nice. Looks good. Let me know what you think of your mic location. I moved mine in my truck to the top of the steering wheel column. I found myself turning toward the mic when it was in the pillar. I also had a lot of sound when I cracked the window.

Drove from Vegas to LA Saturday night. The only person to complain about the mic location was my sister, but that was while going through some mountains between Vegas and LA. It was probably more due to the geographical location as cell phone coverage is spotty through the passes, that and the Aveo is not the most silent car at 80mph. . I'm really digging the whole hands free thing, phone rings, music will fade out and I hit a button on the phone or stereo to pick up. When the call is over, it continues on where it left off. Only complaint is if I just turn the car off, whatever I'm listening to will start over unless I pause it. This is a bit of an issue when listening to 30+ minute podcasts.

Yeah...hands free is the law here now, like 180 dollar fine for talking while driving. The only other issue I have with the integrated setup is if the phone is in my pocket and I start the car it connects....then if I leave the car running and get out and walk away and come back, it doesn't automatically reconnect...at least not fast enough..I have to manually reconnect unless I shut it off and start it again....oh and also the phone conversation takes over the sound and display, so I can't listen to anything while talking on the phone..or watch DVDs for that matter too.
