Hey all, I just had a new alpine head unit installed,and now the cruise control won`t function. It was installed at an audio shop using the correct harness and dash kit from Metra. My car is an 07 hatch back. Any ideas on this problem? Also, does anyone know which fuse is associated with the cruise control? Thanks in advance.
wow thats frickin weird, take your car back to the shop and tell em that your car is messed up now. my gf once had a new cd player put in her cavy and when she got home the inside dinger to let you know you left your lights on or your keys are still in the ignition when you are exiting would not turn off. the car would even be runnin and it would just ding. she took it back and they did something, aint sure what, but they did something and fixed it for free so whatever shop you went to should fix it for ya.
They could have fried something or cut some wrong wires. Nonetheless take it back and have them fix it.
Does your horn work? If they used the wrong harness (sometimes they sell the expensive and try to get by with the cheap) then your airbags won't work either... The 02+ GMs all have the Airbags, Cruise Control, Door Ding, and a few other things routed through the Radio...
um... they shouldn't have cut any wires at all. must have unplugged something, because I don't think anything goes through the radio on our cars. I replaced my deck and didn't lose anything... then again, I don't have cruise control either.
they might have blown a fuse, i would go through and check all your fuses. i dont belive they make more then one harness for the aveo, there is just the daewoo one, and the one for the 07 sedan. they should have used the daewoo one.
All 02+ GM Vehicles require the the extended harness ($139) to keep many of the luxury features of the car...Quote:

the aveo 06 does not require the 130 harness.. the audio shops are circuit city and best buy know very little about this car and will tell you that you need it when infact you dont.

Its the wrong harness, I've heard of this before, two harness's "fit", but one actually keeps everything working. I got one at Bestbuy and it fit but I lost my clock somehow, got one at circuit city and it works fine...there might be another cause for the cruise control i think someone here had that happen before.
my dad has 06 hatch and he had gone to a local audio shop and ordered a harness and didn't have any problems, i would have to agree that circuit city and best buy arent always the wise choice.
