It sounds like you'll need a new radio. A quick google search will show you're not alone with GM radios losing displays. My 2010's only lasted 3 1/2 years before the amplifier started acting up. I replaced it with an aftermarket that includes USB input and bluetooth. Couldn't be happier.

Aftermarket all the way! You will not only get a custom look that you like but it will make you're music sound even better.

My factory one still worked perfectly, it would play MP3's but lacked any inputs. I swapped it out with this one and couldn't be happier.

I like that unit a lot Andrew! Was it pricey and does it have many illumination options?

Thanks! It's a DPX300U, the DPX300BT has the bluetooth. (The remote for both is the same, except the call and end buttons don't work on mine.) I got it on sale on Crutchfield for $199 (over a year ago), with free two day shipping. I want to say is has 16 or 20 different color options. It has blue, red, orange, green, purple, yellow, and variants in between. I have the Manual put up, and the box is in my shed with other boxes. lol

Here's the link to it on Crutchfield. Kenwood DPX300U CD receiver at Crutchfield.com

I compared them at the time, to my knowledge the only difference is bluetooth and handsfree on the BT. I have an iPhone 6 Plus and use it via USB, did the same with my 5s and 4s as well. One of my friends tried to use his Samsung Galaxy S3 via USB but it wouldn't recognize it. I realized later that it could've been something in the phones USB mode settings. It will also work with a flash drive, but I have never tried it since I use my phone.

I was going to add a subwoofer to the car, but after I changed the unit it didn't need one. My car had a dealer installed premium sound package, it does not list the brand and it is not labeled inside the car. This until really optimized them in general and the bass sounds awesome now! IMO this was SO worth the money!

let me put in MY two cents before you go ripping out the Factory Head Unit: I actually had this happen to ME this afternoon, and after I safely parked in my Driveway, I removed the Radio/RKE Fuse for a minute (its the 15 amp fuse in the Yellow holder) and that fixed the problem.
