putting in racing seats - how do i avoid messing airbags up?

Hi guys - i have an 06 hatchback, and i'm trying to figure out how to put racing seats in. The passenger seat has a built in sensor that detects weight over 100 lbs and then activates the passenger airbag..... I was thinking that I could pull the cable from the bottom of the seat, and just make some sort of switch that completes the circuit. The idea would be to push a button that turns off/on the passenger airbag.

As far as I know, the driver seat has no such sensor....

also, insight into types of mounting racks, models of seats that people have used in the past that 'just work' (ie i don't want to have to go nuts manufacturing my own rails/sliders, i'd like something that i can just bolt in)

gravanatuning.com makes some seat rails for most seat manufactures, you just have to mention which seats you have

looked at that site (thanks for the link).... it lists an aveo/wave special on tenzo seats, includes brackets and sliders. looks pretty neat.

can anyone comment on how to address the passenger airbag? anyone handy enough with electronics to know if creating my own manual button for the passenger airbag would work?

ok pretty much i talked to my local dealer and they said if i took out the stock seats id lose my side airbags which are inside the seat itself but the front airbags will still activate in an accident.

my question is could anyone whose installed racing seats go thru the process they took and if they were able to keep their side curtains n what not.

dont quote me on this but:
if you pop ur hood and look by the hedlights you will see a lil square box that says siemens or sumtin like that, that is ur sensor for the front airbags. should be 2 of them at least, and on the sides are the same thing, other sensors. they need to get impacted to trigger the bags. but dont quote me.

yes, the sensors are the same to signal a crash, but the circuit going to the airbags are different, you could run a switch, just make sure you put the switch on the correct wires. if you have no reason for tha airbag not to go off, you could just jumper the weight switch.

as far as the sides, you wouldn't have them anymore.

I would highly recommend against messing around with your airbag wiring and putting switches in the system. It's possible to deploy a bag just by unplugging the connector if there happens to be some residual current in the system or from static electricity. I really don't think it would be that hard to fit the Occupant Sensor into the new seat, it's just a pad that goes on the seat cushion.
