Racing seats installed!

Pictures speak for themselves, i fabricated my own brackets using the stock ones and some square tubing. Didnt take any pics of the brackets cuz theyre not painted yet and kinda look awfull lol. When i finish them ill post pics.

Sweet seats... I hate the stock seats, no side support for me.
not feeling the antenna, though... base it too wide.

The base of the antenna is like that because i forced it over the one on the aveo, had no choice to do it that way the screw is inside, plus water cant get in there like the stock one.

mine fits the same way, I took an antenna from an HHR :o (it's KILLING my gas mileage...you know, all the drag it produces) LOL :lol:

Ive gotta say man, those seats look awesome. Especially with the way you painted your center console and such. Makes it almost look like Chevy made an Aveo Ractive edition or something. 8)

any issues with the airbags? i know the system is incorporated into the stock seats.

I have a 2004 dont have airbags in the seats, i think only 06 and up have them

oh, lucky you, i was gonna change my driver seat because it is starting to rip (cheap ass ****) but then i wont have side air bags....well at least on my side. i dont know if the driver seat detects if you are sitting down on it to deploy the airbag in the steering wheel.

Ill do that next week, im on vacation, the brackets arent painted yet so i wanna do that 1st, then ill add pics once everything is done

where did you get those seats . local or interent or something else. do they sell any other seats other than ractive or did you get them from ractive?

Bought them at a local store, they had a catalogue with tuning stuff in it

Alright, the brackets are not painted but since Denis wanted too see em that much i decided to take pics anyway.

Not hard to do, basically remove the brackets (without the sliders) from the stock seats (this WILL require you to do some cutting of the brackets on the stock seats so forget about putting your stock seats back in the car if you do this) The only way you can put back the stock seats is to weld them in place so they wont move.

Anyways back on track, I bought some square tubing and bolts, nuts. The thing was patience, measuring and fitting, measuring again and more fitting, the 1st seat took me a good 3 hours, the 2nd, 45 minutes.

To put it as simple as i can, cut off the stock brackets and weld square tubing onto them, and bolt the seats to the square tubing.

I'm probably going to recover them with carpet later on, but ill paint them this weekend.

hes got the sliders for the new seat attached to the bracket which is welded to the old sliders

That is correct, using the aftermarket sliders, the seat does move forward and back

it wouldnt take much to put the stock seats back in. just hit the welds with a grinder and take off the aftermarket seats and polish the weld spots out and use a can of krylon black spraypaint and youre good to go.

seats look sweet man, only things that bother me are the logos on the seats and the brackets....i would have just went all custom so you could have more area to weld down, doesnt seem too safe with just those few spots

Ohh there is no danger, each seat is welded at 8 different spots and each weld is almost 1 inch in length more then plenty strong enuf

if i keep mine long enough to do the seats im just gonna make completely new brackets so i dont have to trash the stock ones

Looks good man! I just hope the bolts that attach the seat to the frame you made are strong enough to hold when/if you ever need them to. Regardless seats look great!
