Re: Rear Window Safety Stop
I hate that too, I guess that is something you can take out of the door when its apart, but that is too much work
Re: Rear Window Safety Stop
There could be, but I'd venture to say that the engineer's made sure it isn't easy to do.

Re: Rear Window Safety Stop
If you notice the shape of the door, it's impossible to get the glass all the way in. That's why they don't go down all the way.
Re: Rear Window Safety Stop
i remember reading somwhere that it was for safety, maybe safety is an excuse?

Ive heared its because often times children ride in the rear seats and this is supposed to make it safer for them. I guess it would make climbing out them, thats what i figured when i heared that explanation.
Re: Rear Window Safety Stop
as far as removing the window handle there's a c-clip holding it in place can be removed with a screwdriver or a pair of needle nose pliers
better yet a window handle removal tool
about $5 at a auto parts store

+1 on this. the door glass only goes down that far because of the arch in the bottom of the door for the back wheel well..
some cars used to advertised that is child safety... but it will really a confusion with child safety locks coming out around the same time, salesmen thought they were both child safety features, and then more people bought into the idea to make it an "option"
Re: Rear Window Safety Stop
Well I was just checking to see if anyone has done this because it would definately be helpful. If anyone finds out how to do it please let me know.
