      with a tapping kit, meaning you make threads on the shaft. If you don't know how to do it (apparently not) any shop should be able to do it in under 5 minutes.

      Agreed my automatic cressida was easier, attached a 16mm wrench with hose clamp as it's new shift 'knob' with no boiling. About to put a 5" led bubble shift knob on my aveo manual. Our bar is one really long bar too on these Aveos from what I seen at the wrecking yard so its even harder than it sounds in this thread.
