Yeah, everything I'm painting I've bought a factory piece from the scrap yard of. That way if I decide I don't like it or if I want to re-sell the car I can bring it back to original

Did you have to sand down the top part of the canter dash before painting? Because when i painted mine the paint wouldnt stick to the plastic right until i sanded it down and it stuck alot better.

Yeah, I sanded it down with I believe 320 grit. Well, the parts I've done I did. I'm only going to paint the outter edges of the center piece and leave the middle black. What color did you paint yours, and do you have any pics of it after you did?

I posted pics in the other forum while this forum was down. Ill be posting pics on here soon if i dont already have em. You can check my build thread, just look for my name under author. Im using red/black in the interior. I did the same thing you did, the outside of the dash and left the center part of it black.

You can also use a Plastic primmer, that's what I used before I painted my parts.

yeah, I cleaned the pieces, sanded them down, cleaned them again, primed, and then painted. I still had a few spots that were resistant, but I got them painted

There are two screws after you take the two side pieces along the radio out. Take those two screws out and pry the dash piece up from the top, this should release the whole unit. At this point you can take the hazard light button out(along with the two dummy buttons), and you can take the two vents out as well, both being held in by more screws. I'll try and get some pictures up at some point if I can

Re: Starting to re-do the interior

Gaaah, I wish I was able to finish doing the interior of my car. unfortunetly, with the new job I don't have much time to get anything done after work around the house, and the days that I have been able to it's been pretty nasty out. I'm hoping sometime this week I'll get the rest of the interior painted up and put back in so I can post some new pics up
