Re: two removal questions Glovebox and Automatic plate cover...
i believe you have to remove the whole center stack (cupholder to junk tray, it's 1 piece, except for your selecter). To do that you need to remove 2 screws from the front anf the back of it. It's seriously hard to get it out though because it catches on the ebrake. Pull the ebrake all the way up, and then up some more just enough to get the plastic to silde up and over it. Thats as much advice as i can give you, as I havent done anything with the glove box and i actually havent removed my selecter plate

Glove box is easy... open half way and yank it off. It's pretty hard. If you're not sure, check in your car's manual. As far as the auto plate, I don't know. I have a manual.

yeah, the glovebox should pull straight out. Hold it by the bottom hinges on both sides and it will snap out.
For the shift plate, you need to remove the base (3 screws total - one in cup holder at rear and two on the front sides) and the plate remains attached to the shift lever. Twist the knob off and remove the plate.

I wonder why the glove box is so damn heavy.
