Upgrade Wiper Switch

The unadjustable "intermittent" setting on my 2008 Aveo is driving me nuts, its almost always either too fast or too slow depending on the rain. Maybe I'm just obsessive-compulsive.
Anyone know if you can swap the variable timed switch from the 2009 and later models? The switch is available for about $30.00, and appears to be a "plug and play" style. The only difference in the newer switch is an extra wire harness hanging from it. Or does the variable wiper timing run off of a body control module?

This makes me nuts too! I'm glad I'm not the only one. I'm not sure how to offer any advice, did you ever finish the upgrade?

i wish i could tell you. but the 09 and prior cars use different harnesses. even the radio isnt swappable

I didn't realize our wiper switches were different...I love mine haha

This is a silly question, but would it possible to change the relay for the intermittent wipers? I wouldn't want to change them back and forth, but it's an idea.
