what do YOU have installed?

I was planning my audio system and it got me wondering what other people have installed in their Aveos.

I have a 2010 aveo5 and here is the plan so far (let me know if you think it's 'good')

DECK: Kenwood excelon ddx 7015 with external navigation unit. I pulled this out of my old car. Old but still works fine and the nav is awesome.

AMP: Infinity kappa 5 amp 50x4 + 350x1 bass at 2ohm

FRONT: Infinity Reference 6030cs 6.5-Inch components

(I don't want to drop 6x9s in the rear deck because I don't like listening to music from behind me, although it's a cool idea.)


SUBWOOFER: and for bass, I'm looking for a 10 inch JL subwoofer in an sealed box on craigslist. Maybe a 10w6v2 or whatever I can find. Or even an 8w7 if I could find one. I'd like the sub and box to be compact but still sound good/ exciting. Any suggestions?

budget is about 600, but I can go over. I got 600 from a bad driver who rear-ending my brand new car while parking. I was standing right there. I fixed the bumper myself.

2000 watts of bass in an Aveo? That's got to be pretty awesome. Can you even sit in the car when you have it at full volume? In my last car I had a JL 1000/1 pushing 3 JL 10w6v2 subs and that was a butt ton of bass. I can't imagine DOUBLE the power.

its ok i hit 145db with it... i listen to it full blast all the time.. i always have a pair of headphones in there for sensitive people.. i wanna scrap it all and get 2 SoundStream X3s and 2 SoundStream Rubicon 2500Ds

Well I ordered all my stuff!
ended up finding an JL audio 8w7 on craigslist in a sealed box, fits nicely in the back of the hatchback and only takes up a little less than half the space back there. I'll keep the board updated when I get all the stuff. This is the first install I'm doing on my own so I'm a little nervous!

I am reluctant to post on here after the bashing I took from AveoSS when I first came on, but here goes.

I will give you some constructive information/advice/criticism. Please do not take it the wrong way.

Infinity kappa five amp:
This will be a lot of work for a beginner. You will need an amp install kit with at least 4ga. wire for pwr and gnd and 3 sets of signal cables.

Infinity reference 6.5 components (w/ one inch spacer ring):
Check the mounting depth on the woofers. might be too deep

JL audio 8w7 in sealed box:
JL audio is great stuff, but 8" is too small. If you want some thump you need at least 10" or 12". sealed box is for tight bass. get a ported box

2 farad capasitor:
waste of money...take it back for an amp kit

Kenwood excelon ddx 7015 dvd w/nav:
best part of your system!

If you wire this right, with 4ga for pwr and gnd, 12ga for the sub as well as other speaker wire and signal wire, it will be WAY more than 40 bucks.

I agree with Aveo Garbage. This is the biggest piece of crap I have ever owned. Uneven tire wear, check engine lights, rattles and squeaks, I knew it was cheap, but it is falling apart. And who in this thread called it a domestic? Its a daewoo from Korea. I was just looking at the new Fit sport, thats what Chevy needs to copy to get back in the game.

on topic, i think you spent a bit too much (I see you used craigslist though) i see amp/speaker combos used for $200 or less, good brands too. Infinity is pretty good though, I just would not want to be the one to put it in
