theres no real upside.. smaller subwoffers generally give you tighter bass sound and are just neat.. they handle less power and can fit more places..8s are really just now starting to hit the scene really large

things i have installed:
mud flaps all 4, muffler tip w red led, flame grille, tint, rims, i have sold the 18s now puttin on 16s, had intake filter but removed it.
shift knob, arm rest, hid lights led bulbs the rest is on my cardomain if i missed anything.

Over the course of the next few months, I am going to redo the boom in my stereo. on the topic of 8" subs, I am selling the kicker cvt8 I used to run with a small alpine amp to a coworker next week. I currently have 2 Tens on a 250 watt amp. I just picked up a 2nd 250 watt amp, I am going to upgrade to 2 twelves. when I get my 12s I am giving my sealed box with 2 tens to a coworker who in return is going to weld me a custom amp rack which will double as a rear tower brace

Hahaha, hunter. I know the Aveo is pretty cheap, but my 2010 aveo5 was $6,500 brand new with a pretty good warranty. I figured I'd take my chances with a new car rather than used cars in the price range.


I think I spent too much as well, but 'whatev'. I think high quality audio will be a good investment. I'm a musician who loves music and no matter how crappy the car, if it sounds good, it's a fun experiance to drive.


I still haven't started the install yet. I've been busy. Just got back in town and with school and work. BUT I will post a photo blog-style post when I complete the install and let people know where I had trouble.

Ive currently got about $600 in mine over the course of 2 years. I decided what I wanted and sat around and waited until I found deals I could be happy with. retail for everything I have would be roughly $2000.

2x Damplified Entire Car Roof, Floor, Doors, Trunk and Dash (Installed)
1x Sony Deck (Upgrading for a 5V Out here soon)
Remote Shut offs and bass controllers applied to each amp (Installed)
2x Batteries - XS Power d3100 (Coming Soon)
I currently only use a upgraded front battery and a locomotive high reserve battery in the trunk (weighs about 150 or so lbs)

Resonates around 43 hertz currently, but I am going to up it to 52 or so here soon

And just a heads up there are some friends of mine that put high end motors on 8s and can keep up with me lol. I have no trunk space with both that battery and box back there, its a pretty tight squeeze lol.

Performance Audio - Even Sound QUality takes plenty of time and analysis. we spend hours on this stuff! Let me know if you have any Q's
