8" Bazooka tube TA 850 (Cheap!)
Sounds great, not an over powering amount of bass.http://www.aveoclub.net/phpBB2/userp...DSCN1129_1.jpg
That's it there in the left hand corner, space saver too.
300 watt rms 10 inch visonik sub and a 600 watt mono-channel amp with a sealed hatchback box. tucked it in the left hand corner. sounds excellent and not overly expensive for the quality.
I've got a 10" Kicker in a box that fills up the hatch , Im not certain on the specs since I bought it off a friend who got it from his brother. But the thing rattles the hell out of the car and gives relaxing massages to all who sit ion the car :D
Right now, I got a Audiobahn 10" Tube Sub with Amp (ATB10AT) .
Plays and sounds nice....but needs improvement. I am going to upgrade to 2 12" Pioneer subs with a Mono Pioneer Amp and a custom built sub.
hey dude a mono channel amp doesnt and wantpower 2 subs and what do you mean when you say and a custom built sub.
Actually a mono amp can power two subs if you connect the subs in series or parallel. I think he meant custom built sub woofer enclosure.Quote:

i'm probably looking at using 2x Focal 21v2, 8-1/4" Subwoofers, only needs a 20L box each so will be easy to hide off the sides of the hatch

I used to have all Focal in my New Beetle, really miss my K2 stuff. :cry:Quote:

Custom Chevrolet Aveo -- plenty more pics!!
wow, thats pretty ugly... bondo and sandpaper... and silicon to fill the wire holes so you can hide then. use high gloss (a few coats) then it'll look 10x better

I think that the enclosure could have been more tastefully done...what event and what meter was used and where did you place the meter and what did you play and what speaker/amplifier(s) are you using?
I know the box is rough, it still is not finished. It was metered at the dash, don't know what type of meter, have to look. It was what the shop uses to test vehicles. The problem with the Aveo is the lack of room behind the rear seat. Keep in mind, the box, cap and two amplifiers are all located in that area. The 15 in subs have about four feet of airspace, and the seat w/ box can be folded down for access to amps and spare tire!
If you notice, there are no wire holes as of right now, still not to that point yet. In fact, the car is just about gutted, as all of the panels are being reworked. Only thing to see is dynamat right now. The amplifiers are db drive platinum 1200 and 475. Running 1200 watts at 1 ohm. The subwoofers are cadence beast 15 inch single 2 ohm VC paralleled to the amplifier.
We played full range music, not test tones, as this car is designed for street beats in USACi. It was c weighted too. The meter used was +- 2 db, and maxed out at 126 db. We still have not installed the two component sets to complete the system. Be careful, though, because you really need to upgrade the charging system at this level. I use an 8 farad cap, as well as an optima yellow top battery. Waiting on a 200 amp alternator as well.
That's some fine work there, can't wait to see it finished. :)

where did you find the aftermarket alternator that fit the aveo? or are you doing a custom fit? What brand component set are you using? I can't wait to see the finished product. I am doing a similar build but with a hidden approach...and a goal of luxury SQ on a beer budget...so far so good...will keep you posted...
The alternator is custom, not a rewind, but custom brackets. All the components are DB Platinum right now, but you know how that goes. This is the third build in this vehicle, and its first year on the circuit.
Even though this is an street beats vehicle, it still has a lot of customization done to it. Stealth is hard to do in a vehicle this size!!
Stealth is not hard if you are creative.....:) my specialty...what other brand build ups have you done before deciding to go with this one?
My wife has a Hyundai Sonata that is all diamond audio, and I am in the process of trading off a Chevrolet Malibu for a Sonoma and transferring all my Alpine gear, including their flagship amplifier, the mrv-1507. All my vehicles run alpine head units and cd changers, though. I have also sold off Polk Audio and Earthquake equipment for a project that never was started. Sigh, being a microsoft systems engineer, there is just not enough time for everything I want to do...
BTW, the Malibu was a stealth project with alpine amps and head, with infinity kappa 4x6 plates in the doors and 6x9s in the rear deck, all stealth.
f I do decide to go the SPL route I would use 1 or 2 Oz Audio Power Series P12.1 12-inch Subwoofers
http://www.ozaudio.com/images/Power_12_45_sm.gif
and for amplifier(s) I would probably run,
http://www.ozaudio.com/images/oz_v2000_sm.gif
4 Oz Audio Vector Series VA2000.1 Amplifiers with 2 subs or 2 Vector Series VA2000.1 Amplifiers with 1 sub
So if you see another aveo at one of the sound offs, be prepared to dance...that is just the idea starting point....

Excellent taste in equipment, but I always have leaned toward OZ Audio for more SQ then SPL...
1 12" Infinity perfect powered by an Infinity 611a in a 2.75 cubic vented enclosure. Extremely accurate bass!!
Im fixing to buy two 400w Soundstream 10"s off my buddy. Wonder if I could fit those in the back and still have room for junk? What do yall think?
Probably not. My box takes up my whole hatch area. The only way I can stow stuff is by pulling the rear seats down. But then again how much could you really fit back there anyways, like 3 grocery bags
it'll fit if you glass into the sides to get your air dimensions.
Well I just got rid of my old Audiobahn 10" Tube Sub. I now have a Sub Box with 2 12" Pioneers driven by a Pioneer 800W MONO Amp. I have never gotten better sound out of this car. I also installed some high-power tweeters, so now I hear every single beat and pluck and cymbal crash. I'll post pictures later.
Aveo summit, could you build a box that takes up as little room as possible, but still works with a single 10" punch reference series speaker? I also want to be able to secure it down so I don't have it flopping around during spirited drives, but easy to remove for track days.
I would really like to get rid of the 2 10" box that takes up the whole back area of the car so I can use it for groceries n stuff.
If you think you can do it, can you please post up a picture of how the design would be?
Thanks
What did you decide to do?Quote:

Here is some eye candy Bravox Audio 12" EDX 6000watt DVC (300 watt min rms - 3000 watt max rms per coil)

Only 220 were made in the world for the 50th anniversary only 7 remain in the US. Get your part of history. You snooze...you lose, Let me know if you are interested! Last weekend a guy hit 143.6db with one EDX with 1000 watts. They are well worth the money.
2 year later I finally am able to get the last one of the Anniversary Subs available in the US #170/220, amazing...
last season i used 1 TF1 10's in a custom spl box, i did 150.4 db tuned to 59hz on Termlab with an atomic at5000d amp. This season i changed up to a single 15" tf1 and a stetsom 2k5d2 for bass race and i can burp 144db, and bass race 129.9 class.
damn thats a nice speaker
I've run a lot of differnt sub and amp combos. Right now I've my stuff mixed up, I'm using a Kicker L7 2 Ohm 12 in Kicker ported box with mono USamp 2000W and MBquartz components. Oh and I have a panasonic touch screen.
