Will I need an antenna adapter for my new aftermarket radio? (06 aveo sedan)

Hi newbie here
06' Chevy Aveo LT Sedan

Just purchased an aftermarket head unit from crutchfield.com and and they are including the dash kit & wire harness. But I've seen comments and post about needing an antenna adapter that will properly fit the aftermarket head unit I will be installing (Pioneer DEH-X8600BH). If I do in fact need the adapter, Crutchfield is supposed to include this free of charge. I need to know for sure so I can speak with their customer support to request a free adapter.

You should not need an adapter. If you do, Crutchfield will include it or make it right. They are a good company. I like to deal with them because of this reason even if I may be able to buy cheaper elsewhere. I change the radio in my 2007 Aveo5 and it did not need an adapter. I don't remember which model I installed but it was a Pioneer. You can check out what model on my garage page.

I just installed the DEH-X6600BS a couple weeks ago. The original antenna plugged in just fine.

But now I need new speakers.

Awesome! Thanks for the responses, I have some 6.5" components I'm going to try to squeeze in the doors. With spacers of course. I'm pretty sure I can find an old thread of someone who went that route on here right?

Yes. I'm planning on doing the same.

6.5 in the front w/ 1"spacer.
4x6 in back.

I'm in a hatchback.

I've seen some threads on here about it. Plan on getting some Dynamat (sound deadenor) also.

I put 6.5s in my doors. Had to cut back some crisscross supports inside the panel to make it fit. And be SUPER careful taking of the mirror cover panel, the clips are crazy fragile.
