I was given a 2007 aveo5 LS with the only issue being my sunk tons of money trying to get the ABS system fixed. With no codes thrown by the ECU. She gave it to me and said if I can fix it I can have it. Title in hand.
First, I jacked up the car and removed all the wheels. With the help of my nephew I bled the brakes to insure there was no are in the lines. Next, Being that the rear ABS sensors are tucked inside the drums I focused on the front. I located each front sensor but was unable to remove them so instead I sprayed each sensor with WD-40 extremely heavy then again with Brake parts cleaner. Next, I took a clean cloth and used 2 flat-head screwdrivers and (like floss) used them to pull the cloth back and forth over the sensor.
Once you're done both front ABS sensors Insert the ignition key, turn but don't start. Then turn back to off position then to accessory then off and then start it. You're front when should still be off. Put in drive or 1st gear and the ABS warning light should disappear.
This is exactly how I fixed mine.
Hit me up if you have any questions. I'll be happy to assist in any way.
