      Thats one Idea.
This is the kind of kit I'd be into and would actually consider purchasing. Even if I rallyXed or had a fully prepped rally aveo I don't think I could justify dropping the dough on a wilwood conversion kit. It's just not needed for the aveo.

Of course I'd love it even more if we could sell the mounting hardware as a seperate kit so I could go purchase the calipers/discs seperate... but I'm a cheapskate.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far the wall moves after you hit it.

Isn't Garrett going to have a kit or partial kit for that actually? For the lanos anyway. It's my understanding they're slightly different.

I wouldn't really say so. We put the 12.2" front 10.9" rear on a 2250# civic and it's not really overboard. It allows him to run high performance street pads and not worry about fade ever off the track; but on track you still get quit a bit. Even my 13" front kit is pushed to it's limits allot off the track and my cars 2500#

I still think they're terribly overboard for my application. To add a $1,450 brake system to a car that I plan on using for rally is out of the question. One stray rock, one missed turn... and there goes that $1,450... on top of hubs/body panels/whatever else may break. A couple hundred is much easier to swallow as a privateer.

This isn't to say, that if I had the money to burn, I wouldn't invest in the "biggest and best" I could put in the car... however without a full sponsorship, it's out of the question.

I suppose my application is very different than what most of you will be using them for, though.

      **UPDATE**

I talked with Sam from R1 Concepts about those rear "discs" and he said "Whoops, that's a typo!", those are supposed to be drums, not disks.

But as far as getting a rear disc conversion setup, Yes, I think Garret (gse_turbo) has the right idea by converting to the Saturn discs, even though the conversion will be different from the Lanos kit he currently offers. I see that as being the most cost effective and usable situation for most Aveo owners.

I can't see the brakes getting hurt in an accident before you would, even with a partial roll cage.

If the wheels came off then the discs would get screwed up, worst case they might bend the caliper mounting brakes. Worst case I think half the kit would have to be relaced.
