well i sold my eg hatch for a g and now the pacman is gonna be bagged but im having a hard time finding a kit or at least just the strut bag . i know i can find the rest of the stuff here in town . so my question is does anyone know of another car that the struts are the same as ours so i can maybe find a kit for that car and use it
The mounting point on the top with it's 'floating' design I have only seen on VW's. The rear should be easy.
find a rabbit or a mk2 vw kit for the front. although easy street air could build you front bags if you send them measurements on certain things.. because a strut is a strut, but its the size of the shaft that matters most.
Yeah, you might check out the forums on vwvortex.com and see if anyone has how-to or parts list for their bagged mk2 or mk3.
ok so the guy at the shop put together a kit for me to use and the front strut bags are from a neon idk whatyear and regular bags for the back. all together wopth labor its gonna cost me eight hundred only thingis i have to get a compresor but im gonna drop off the car tomorrow
How's the handling with bags anyways?
when my friend had them in his caprice it was kinda like riding on cut springs but not as bouncy you take bumps hard aor at least in his caprice

How much is this all costing? Man progress looks good tho. Wanted to do this but lost about where to start.
its gonna cost me 800 for the kit and labor but idk if it will cost more where your at . and the guy told me that if i roll my fenders the tire will sit in the fenders

rent a fender roller and a heat gun is the best way for little money.
i would have to check, but i kind of thought the fenders were factory flat edged though? unless your offset is low, i dont know that you will need rolled? unless he means "pulled" with a roller..? but like i said, i would need to look at them again.
man i got the car back on thurs but ive been busy. the car is bad ass i love it but im gonna take it back to have the back dropped lower case its almost the same as what it was before. pics will be up tonight .
Don't you just flick a switch to lower it? How's the system rigged if that's not the case?

very nice, is it just me or does it sit higher then stock with bags full of air, and that the front does not have as much movement as the back?
ya the front is more smoother than the back cause it still has the strut the backis just the bag and its way higher than stock lol in the video on the fw i only had about half a tank of air ill take another in my driveway with a full tank right twards the end i ran out of air thats why the back didnt look like it went up lol

the ride is very smooth when its halfway up both front and back , but when its dumped or rased its bumpy as hell , worse then honda bounce! as for the kit being made idk casue the guy used the strut bags from a neon idk what year and just regular old bags in the back but there is a kit for the aveos idk remember where i found it but its like a g, and it comes with tank hoses compressor valves and bags . and yes i do have a compressor it just takes like five minutes to fill up . and last night i bumped up my psi from 120 to 150 man the back gets off the ground lke maybe an inch
Could you figure the neon's year? i know a guy who has some bags just need the front struts. ima get some better shocks for the rear too.
i was the neon that they used to be on but idk the year i would say like a 99 or 2000 but i went to the shop and he said that he used my srtuts instead of the neons for the strut bags . so myabe if you get strut bags your local shop or whoever does your work will use your struts like my shop did

airbags are the "spring" just like mercedes, and cadillac.
thats right there is no spring anymore only strut bags in the front and only bags in the back
