if you look at the conversion, most of the parts you want to be new. the rotors, pads seals and bearings..
they can be had fairly cheap (reasonable) from rock auto..

So the only used conversion things you really need are spindles and calipers...The spindles are the "same" on disk brakes used from 1984-1999. The calipers include up to 2005 if you do some research. Even the 5 lug discs off a VR will work, because you can switch back to 4 lug when you buy a new disk. Thats the only difference.

now for reddemonx92 you see the second part down in the picture? thats the spindle. it bolts the the axle. The aveo has on of those two, What this thread is building (for everyone) is an adapter plate that you bolt to your axle, that will then allow you then bolt the vw spindle to your car. thus giving you vw rear disk brakes.

works much like a drop plate people use to lower their vw.. but without the drop.

Sounds simple enough I've just never had any experience with that much involved. The spindle bolts on the the top half of the plate right?

I would be in on this as well. I would love the conversion since it would just be easier to do my own brake jobs.

      Interested but cant afford.

      1. How long is he keeping stock or blueprints around?
      2. Is the brake balance significantly changed with this conversion?
      3. Did you need to add an adjustible proportioning valve?

      1. Once he has them, he will probably keep them. But no positive price set here on out.

      2. It will be, sort of. The back brakes do about 10% of the braking? so they might now do 15-20%?

      3. Possibly, most likely, need to analyze those needs once a set is installed. And it might be different from person to person, so an adjustable valve might be best over what VW comes with.

Keep in mind this give you the opportunity to install disk brakes.

Im going to start collecting for this.. there is a 2 week wait for the test set to be fitted, then a week from there to manufacture your individual sets..

pricing is $110 per set if we get 5 sets. I will accept paypal at aveonetwork@verizon.net I am already having the prototyp started so there WILL BE MADE REGARDLESS OF THE NUMBER OF SETS BOUGHT, but the $110 price is only good if 5 sets are bought.
