can't figure out what front pads to get

I use my 07 Aveo LS Sedan for delivery so I do a lot of stop and go. I read ceramic are good for longevity but I can't find any ceramic pads for my vehicle. Does it use the same pads as the <06? I can't find any that specifically say they'll fit so I want to make sure before I buy them. Any suggestions on brands? I am more worried about how long they last over performance since I don't really do any sort of driving that will require some sort of performance pad. Also, due to my type of driving, my brakes vibrate really bad(the main reason I am replacing pads.. I need new rotors so I'll just put in new pads while I'm at it). What rotors would you recommend? The stock ones just aren't making the cut for me. I don't need anything drilled/slotted, I just want something affordable and durable that can hold up to my hard driving. Thanks for your help

      -Cory

      Hey

The 07 should use the same Brake Pads as before. Looked it up on AutoZone.com and they are the same P/N so should work.

Not sure if there are any ceramic brake pads out there, but if you are wanting something that has longevity and decreased fade, I would suggest Axxis Brake Pads... got them here...

As far as Rotors, do you know if something is wrong with yours? Performance will not really change from one rotor to the other. Slotted Rotors will help with brake times, as they dissipate heat more. I would check if the rotors are warped or not... Then buy some replacement OEM Rotors...

I kinda figured they were the same but wanted to double check. As far as needing new rotors, I work for the postal service in a rural area and I put around 70-80 stop and go miles on my car every day. I deliver to around 800 mailboxes a day and a good 10 miles of it is while riding the brakes down a mountain and they vibrate real bad. I figure the reason they vibrate is due to the rotors so I figured instead of trying to have my current ones turned I'd invest in something a little beefier so this doesn't happen again. Don't drilled/slotted rotors cause more wear on the pads? like cutting into them? I could be way off on that, I am anything but an expert.. I just assume it not being a flat surface would effect that but as I said I am no expert and "probably" wrong

I was actually going to buy some semi metallic ones that I knew would fit but then I found out ceramic both lasted longer, and has less dust so I didn't buy them. Do you think the oem rotors are just as good as any other rotors out there for my driving? The vibration while braking is bad... I actually just had to buy a new dash mount for my GPS because the window mount couldn't hang

How are the roads out there? If you are vibrating bad enough I would go to a local brake shop and have it checked out... DON'T BUY ANYTHING, just have them look at it and then tell us what they said... sounds like it could be something other than rotors...

I also offer the Semi-Metallics on the site...

I'll stop by Les Schwab (a local tire shop to the NW) and have them looked at, I'll feel like a jerk making them do a free inspection when I have no intent of having them repaired there but I guess since I buy all of my tires from them I won't feel so bad. I'll let ya know, it might be a few days before I get around to taking my car in though.

with warped rotors you are going to ruin your tires and your alignment...

Re: can't figure out what front pads to get

really? maybe that's why my right front wears so much faster. I will see how much they charge me to get them turned and I guess I probably need an alignment due to my rotors if it really causes that. The rotors could be what caused my alignment to be off? glad I posted this or else I wouldn't have known

Ever consider engine braking that 10 miles down the mountain. Just a thought to help save the brakes.
