      changing rim sizes

Im using 17" rims and planning to change it to 15" rims. Is the difference noticeable?Im looking for performance wise, trying to get the car faster, brakes better and better mileage.

normally when you step down in rim size you go with a bigger side wall on you tire to keep the same circumferance of the wheel as a hole.(factory oem size)when you go with a bigger side wall the ride is slightly smoother but side wall roll increases.so for drifting you want less sidewall and smooth driving in a straight line more side wall.will not change mpg much.factors for mpg rolling resistance, rubber compound, rear axle gearing(can be changed slightly with tire circumference size).carfaster=nitriuos, brakes better=bigger dual caliper brakes, beteer milage=take out rear seat, air conditioning, trunk lid and all other extra weight. sorry i turned into a smart@ss near the end

It will make a difference in weight, and in turn will make everything "better".

When did aveo rear axle's get gear ratios?

      everything else makes sense though.
