normally when you step down in rim size you go with a bigger side wall on you tire to keep the same circumferance of the wheel as a hole.(factory oem size)when you go with a bigger side wall the ride is slightly smoother but side wall roll increases.so for drifting you want less sidewall and smooth driving in a straight line more side wall.will not change mpg much.factors for mpg rolling resistance,rubber compound,rear axle gearing(can be changed slightly with tire circumference size).carfaster=nitriuos,brakes better=bigger dual caliper brakes,beteer milage=take out rear seat,air conditioning,trunk lid and all other extra weight.:headbang: sorry i turned into a smart@ss near the end
It will make a difference in weight, and in turn will make everything "better".
