      I bought mk2s
the back tires have about a half inch from being flush with the rear fenders. I can still stick my hand in there, amd the coils are all the way down.
the front is tucked and I still have about an inch and a half I could lower it.
The back bounces like hell. The fronts ride great tho. Just trying to make sure I did everything correct.
idk if I raise the front an inch and the back an inch if it will ride better or what.

No offense to you but comments like this in this thread are getting annoying.

If you're going coilovers, it's safe to assume that every single aveo or rebadged aveo has the same exact suspension. I think the stock shocks have stiffer/softer variations over the years but that's besides the point for this.

Did you cut the bump stops etc? i would go up or get mk1 rears.

and again the first page is not the bible. it is the start of a discussion.

No I didnt cut the bumpstops. Could that be an issue?
im getting ready to raise the car about an inch and see what that does. The front is too dang low. The back is close to where I want, it just rides horrible over short steep bumps in the road. Like bridges and whatnot. Its like the ass end comes off the ground.
I understand this thread is just a reference btw I dont have a clue where to get just rear mk1s
did you have to buy two full sets?

I did not need to buy any sets. Ive been a vw owner for so long is had good coil overs sitting on the shelves from several other cars...

I would cut or take out the bump stops, I would also raise the front to a more comfortable height. If the car is sitting on the springs and not the shock, the helper springs will be full compressed. If they have any gap to them, then you are sitting on the strut. Coil overs are much stiffer than the oem, and only ride as good as they would on the vw, so if you have the cheap coils they will still ride like cheap coils. which is still an improvement 99% of the time over the stock.
