Crunch noise on suspension of 2011 aveo

Once again, I've encountered another problem with my aveo. My car only has 18,000 miles and the front suspension makes a horrid crunching noise over speed bumps, dips in the road, etc. It's quite embarrassing and reeks of low quality. My wife's beautiful 09 Honda civic never makes the slightest hint of suspension noise. I'm calling the dealer tomorrow and hopefully I'll be able to update this thread with some positive information.

It's been awhile, but I have an appointment for them to look at it next thursday. I'll let everyone know what they say. I just had the hvac blower fan replaced because it was squeaking really bad. I also spent all night adjusting my door because I thought it was the cause of a whistle noise, and even though my door looks perfect now, I found out that the whistle is coming from the side view mirror! The whistle goes away when I put my finger on a certain part of the mirror assembly. I'll see if I can fix it later today. This car is a serious problem child.

I went to the dealer and they lubed the upper strut mounts, so when it gets cold again, we'll see if that worked. They are going to have to work on the side view mirror again because these nim wads tried to mask the whistle by putting more foam insulation where the mirror attaches to the door. Hello, I can hear it through the glass, and what about when my window is rolled down?

Service bulletin he meant. The automaker sometimes issues corrections to known problems. Not recall-level stuff. The dealer will be able to tell you.

Sorry to hear this, that must be annoying. Christian, if you like to private message me the last 8-digits of your VIN, I would be glad to take a look to see if there any special coverages that may be related to what you're experiencing with your side view mirror.

Hope you get this corrected soon! Have a great day.

when you have the whistle, roll down the window to see if it goes away. The upper seal on the door whistles in a lot of our cars. Doubling up the upper seal with a self adhesive D shaped universal seal will cure it.

The upper strut mounts being lubed is an incorrect repair. IF the bearing in there are the cause of the crunching, they need replaced. Not sure what your crunching noise is or sounds like, but it is more likely your sway bar bushings on the rack, they need to be sipped and lubed..

neither of these things will GM cover. But they should

If I roll down the window, the sound gets louder, Rabbit. If I put my finger over the gaps in the mirror component, the whistle goes away. The service department manager said he'll get them to replace the mirror. I'll see what they say about the suspension when I bring it back. The dealer here replaces anything under warranty. A loud whistle is a defect and a serious pain if you roll down the window, and any dealer should fix the problem. If you want people to buy chevy again, you better fix your crap for them.
