No, actually it's probably made in Korea like the rest of the body of the car. Not that I'm complaining, because the fit & finish on mine is probably equal to or superior to Japanese cars I've owned - so it's probably not due to a lack of quality control.
The fault might lie with G.M. (now also known as Government Motors) because they designed it. But more likely, perhaps something happened to it at the dealership, while it was on their lot before it was sold to you.![]()
