thanks for the replies. this car has a considerable amount of rear wheel camber. the tire contact points are noticeably towards the inside tread on both sides. it looks to me that the spindles would actually have to bend to get the amount of camber i'm seeing.
i don't notice any odd tire wear but i just recently installed new aluminum rims and tires so they don't have many miles on them.
i guess that i'll be off to the alignment shop to have them perform a thrust alignment.
