Excessive rear camber

do these swingarms bend? the rear camber on my 2008 hatch is extreme. /---\

it looks like more camber than would be corrected with shims.

any input would be appreciated.

Can you take a picture? Our cars have a little but more inset back wheels, but they should NOT be cambered. Literally they can't be. Our back axle is solid, we don't have swing arms for the suspension to move that way for camber to be achieved. Well without mods.

They can bend. One guy bent his running a big system. Mine is bent do to wheel offset + spacers lol its possible.

The camber increases as the arm goes up (car goes lower). Without an alignment machine or some serious measuring, you can't say if the beam is actually bent or not.

My car is low enough the it has visible camber. But I have seen very little difference in tire wear.

thanks for the replies. this car has a considerable amount of rear wheel camber. the tire contact points are noticeably towards the inside tread on both sides. it looks to me that the spindles would actually have to bend to get the amount of camber i'm seeing.

i don't notice any odd tire wear but i just recently installed new aluminum rims and tires so they don't have many miles on them.

i guess that i'll be off to the alignment shop to have them perform a thrust alignment.

looking for some clarification - if you ratchet strap a car down with too much force in a shipping container, or a car-truck, can it bend the rear axle and cause this on a new car

the ratchet strap itself would not necessarily cause it. Although if you could keep ratcheting until something broke, you could do it, but you would need some serious force on the ratchet arm..

it would be like trying to pop a tire with the same strap.
