Front Brake pads at 7mm on Aveo from 2007 good?

Had the oil changed and brakes inspected visually.
They are at 7mm in the front.Is that good? About 30,000 km.
They said the brakes were in good shape but I do have a kind of clicking noise when I drive and step on the brake.
Another mechanic said there was 25% left last year and should consider replacing them.
How thick were the original pads ? Who manufactured the original pads?

Hey - I can't comment on factory pads but I have a set of wagners here and they are 1/2 inch in friction material not including backing plate. 25.4 mm per inch - 12.7 mm new - 7 mm left. 55% left.

that clicking noise is your cj joints?.. Here is another test for it.. Crank the wheel completely right and hammer the gas and the say to the left. If noise is works its your CJ joints..
