      H&R spring question!

When you installed the springs, and got it aligned, did you need to buy the camber kits, or did it sit just fine???

sits fine, no alignment ever done. The lower upper bolts on the front struts do not adjust the alignment so you are not removing any alignment pieces.

Tires have even wear after 30,000 miles, if the alignment was bad it would show up in the tire wear.

excellent to hear... I might get some camber bolts for autocross next year. I know with the cavalier on track days, it only needed -.5 to -.8... But autocross it needed -1.8 to -2.2 camber depending on the course. Duno if I'll be Autoxing any more though...

If you really want to increase the handling ability of your aveo, make a lower stress brace that ties the front of the control arm together. You will definately notice a difference. Also, the AVeo is a decent autoXer, its so light and while it doesn't feel all that inspiring, the cornering speeds are quite impressive.

Here is a link with pictures of my lower control arm brace... and even some tunnel braces. The tunnel braces are not all that noticeable.

      Re: H&R spring question!

I put adjustable camber bolts in anyway, see the thread 2 or 3 down from this one. One person seemed to think it would put less stress on system overall. I think spending the extra $30 is worth the peace of mind to me at least.

To the uniquemotorsports person, can you email me at eklevjer@gmail.com ? I'd be interested in someone selling me a fabricated sway bar, as well as reinforcement bars.

As long as the rims are the correct off set.

depending on rim width i would say 45 to 35. (closer to 45 being preferred.)
