H&R Springs (Will They Rub With 17's?)

I want to install 205/45 17" and will be very disappointed if they rub. Has anyone tried this combination?

Not regarding that specific size (i.e. 205/45 - 17). Search the forums to confirm.

Please do not respond unless you can definitively answer whether the H&R springs will rub with 17" wheels equipped with 205/45 tires.

i ran 205 35s with 17 and no problem i wouldnt run a 45 i wouldnt even run a 30 a 17 is just too big for the car a 215 40 r 16 is one tenth of an inch bigger than factory so no speedo corrections and you dont lose any acceleration

I'm sure if you read all the past posts on tire sizes and drops, you can do the math pretty simple. (there are some good web sites posted that give measurment information)

There are no posts detailing what sidewall size with 17 inch wheels caused rubbing with the H&R springs. I doubted anyone went larger than a 45 series with 17's but I could be wrong.

Likewise, I'm steering clear of anything smaller (even 40 series). The "coolness" factor is not worth bent wheels, worn suspension bushings and a sore ass.

why do you want 17's then? It would be dumb to run a sidewall bigger than 45.... you going off roading?

Go light weight 16's for the biggest wheels. whatever you get... go for a lightweight wheel.

ok... i bought rims off a dude and 3 tires were 205/35/r17, one tire had a 45 sidewall, i put it on the front ansd it rubbed. i eventually got 2 new tires for the front that were 35 sidewall and there is no rubbing. btw the dude tht i bought the rims and tires from wasnt the smartest cookie... hope this helps.
